The structure of a disused cinema was reformed to become the Satyricon, a restaurant and event venue. Real architectural elements are mixed with painted elements to evoke an ambience with Pompeian reminiscences. The pictorial style and the type of finish contribute to the feeling of a pre-existing and later restored work. The subject of the central ceiling scene is ‘Sacred Love and Profane Love’ with Venus and Cupid on one side and a Bacchanal with Satyrs, Fauns and Nymphs on the other side.
